Records Management
The goal of records management is to help an organization keep the necessary documentation accessible for both business operations and compliance audits.
More sophisticated tools have become indispensable to records management (RM) as the records themselves grow in volume, complexity and format types, and organizations face increasing demands to meet regulatory and research requirements.
This course focuses on teaching employees the regulatory restrictions and requirements placed on filing (whether electronic or paper) and what the four stages of a record’s life-cycle are.
Classification of records;
- Active Record – record that is referenced or required for current use.
- Inactive Record – not needed by an organization for current operations.
- Electronic Record – record in format which only a computer can process.
